This billboard was designed for a contest hosted by Poster Spy and Fox Searchlight U.K. A winner and two runner-ups would have their design made
into a billboard for the U.K. premiere of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. This design was chosen as one of the runner ups out of 
73 submissions. 

 

The design focuses on the namesake of the film as well as the small scale of the narrative. The sky takes up the top two thirds of the image to convey the sense of small-town social oppression that is created through the commentary in the film.

 

The title treatment was designed by Ronnie Salvato of BOND Design.
